R&D Strength Review: 60+ Dedicated R&D Staff, 180+ Patents, and Two Autonomous-Region Research Platforms
For brand owners and distributors, a supplier's R&D capability determines the response speed and formula ceiling of customization. Nala Benyuan Dairy has built a three-tier R&D system of "in-house team + external experts + industry-academia platforms."
Three-Tier R&D System
- 60+ in-house dedicated R&D staff spanning food engineering, dairy technology, nutrition, microbiology, and animal husbandry, with full roles in formula development, strain research, process optimization, analytical testing, and pilot conversion
- 26 external industry experts forming an expert committee for formula review, process breakthroughs, and product-approval guidance
- Deep joint laboratories with over ten universities and institutes including Shihezi University, Xinjiang Agricultural University, the Xinjiang Academy of Animal Science, Jiangnan University, and Harbin Institute of Technology
Two Research Platforms and Hardware Investment
The company is the host of the Xinjiang Camel Milk Engineering Technology Research Center (autonomous-region level) and built the China–Kazakhstan Camel Milk Industry Joint Research Center. Cumulative R&D investment exceeds RMB 30 million, with a CNAS-class inspection and R&D center equipped with 136 sets of precision instruments — including liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, and mass spectrometry — capable of self-testing 148 indicators, plus an independent pilot workshop completing the full R&D → lab-scale → pilot → mass production chain.
Process and Standards Achievements
We pioneered a low-temperature pasteurization + vacuum deodorization process that, after 200+ trials, retains camel milk's active substances while achieving an 18-month shelf life — solving the industry's two big pain points of strong camel-milk odor and easily lost activity. We cracked camel-milk adulteration detection technology and isolated and screened multiple native lactic-acid bacterial strains from Xinjiang's traditional dairy products.
The company has filed 180+ patents (10 granted invention patents; 1,300+ cumulative patents at group level), stockpiled 200+ proven formulas, participated in 8 industry/group standards, and led the drafting of the bactrian camel first-stage camel milk powder group standard — for OEM/ODM customers, this means broad formula choices and mature compliance experience.
